3D Microstructure Meeting Saarbrücken, Germany, November 2nd – 4th, 2011
Across the different disciplines 3D microstructures are an exciting field of research. Materials scientists provide new insights to understand the formation of microstructures as well as its consequences for properties, which might create challenging theoretical problems for natural scientists but also computer scientists and mathematicians. Equally many of the recent advances in computer science and mathematics as well as natural sciences have found useful application in materials science and engineering.
This meeting includes the activities of the workshop "3D Imaging, Analysis, Modelling and Simulation of Macroscopic Properties" organized by Fraunhofer ITWM (Katja Schladitz), Institut Carnot Ecole des Mines (Dominique Jeulin) and TU Kaiserslautern (Claudia Redenbach).
